Mothers

I read the transcript of the telephone conversation between Jacqui Jane's and Gordon Brown and it must have been a very hard conversation for both sides.
Mr Brown is obviously convinced that what he has done is right and he has done this , he thinks for all the right reasons , I just say maybe ask somebody to proof read what you have written next time Mr Brown as he does have advisers.
Jacqui Jane's is the person who received the letter and lost her son she states he was fifth generation infantry s she should have some idea what she is talking about and as the receiver of the letter , if Mr Brown has upset her , he should just acknowledge this fact and apologise instead of holding a debate and trying to say what he did , neither side was going to agree and my heart as always goes out to her for the fact that she lost her son and in reading his injuries and what he sustained , if must be terrible for her.

Today at work one of the Ladies whom I talk to at work on the bakery told me that her son had joined the RAF and that she was upset and scared because there is a very real chance of him being called to go to Afghanistan , I have no idea how far into his training he is as I did not push the subject as it was very obvious how upset she was.

This is the first time since my brother in law left the army some 9 years ago that i have known anyone personally who has somebody in the armed forces and it is the first time I have looked at somebody and seen sheer dread and fear in their face knowing that if her son goes to Afghanistan there is a real chance he will come home in a body bag.

This war , if that is what you choose to call it is touching many people's lives in many ways , if we look at my friends as an example , she has a husband and another son , they have in laws and then from her side she has her friends at work and we are like a community and if something were to happen to him we would all offer her condolences and also be upset so this one person who has this possibility of being called to Afghanistan would touch over 100 peoples lives if killed , it is a dreadful thought to have and I hope as do other that this never happens , but people all round the country are having their lives effected by this war and it is sad how it effects every aspect of peoples lives.

I have the ultimate respect for anybody who chooses to join anything in the military and hope that as many as possible come home safe.

Tomorrow is Remembrance day and I hope everybody stops for 2 minutes at 11 am and pays their respects to those who have fallen and those who are their fighting.
